Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
We are a greenhouse outfit. We have a reservoir and are hooked up to a Water Utility. We fill the reservoir and have electrical capacity with the electrical pumps however in case of an electrical outage we would have a problem. We want to get a backup water pump to pull the water from the reservoir in case of an emergency. The line going into the main water supply line is PVC and is 6" and also runs through some sand media filters. Our normal working PSI is 30 to 45 PSI and if we wanted just to "maintain" during an electrical outage we would run about 100 to 150 gpm at the 30 to 45 PSI (we usually run around 300 gpm). Our reservoir depth is about 15 feet so the suction tube is above the bottom it is about 12 to 13 foot. I was wondering what your recommendation would be we have 60 hp to 80 hp tractors with PTO and hydraulics

Answer
you might look at the Honda 134 GPM (2") High Pressure Water Pump, model WH20 or the TrunkPump 180 GPM (2") High Pressure PTO Water Pump, model TP-2PTP. Another option might be to install a STANDBY GENERATOR. Of course, you would need to know the wattage requirements for correct sizing.
