Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
I am looking for a pump to transfer water from a 250 gallon tank to a hose to do hand watering. I am worried about over pressuring the hose when you want to turn the nozzle off for a few minutes while you move around.

Answer
As with any centrifugal pump like this, unless you are running off of a pressure tank and switch, you MUST insure that you are never closing off the discharge while the pump is operating, for any length of time. This can cause severe damage to the pump and possibly severe injury to anyone around the pump.
