Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
If I was to water a garden with this pump, would the pressure of the hose turning on and off be bad for the pump?

Answer
Yes it would! Cutting off the flow on the discharge or "Deadheading the pump" of any submersible pump like this would cause extreme backpressure, resulting in either a hose/pipe blowing out or the pump exploding. Neither of which would be a good thing in addition to being potentially very dangerous for anyone near this. The same is true for non-submersible pumps UNLESS the pump is an on-demand style pump or it's connected to a pressure switch and pressure tank.

This might be a silly question, but can this pump be plugged in to a standard household electrical outlet? Just want to make sure before I order the unit from you guys. The reviews sound great and we certainly need a good pump where we live. Thanks!
