I work for a company in the PA gas well industry. We started with one of these 4" pumps, but now have about 4 of these pumps. They have run 24 hrs a day for a week or two straight at a time and they have worked flawlessly. They start on the first pull every time.
The pump is self priming after the first manual prime you do. You should manual prime any pump the first time anyway or you could/will burn up the shaft seal(water keeps seal cool). We have used them in the bitter cold winter and the scorching hot sun in the summer. Haven't let us down. We've run fresh water, brine water, and production water through them. I would recomend these pumps to anyone. They run and hold up as well if not better then the expensive pumps.
Don't let the low price keep you from buying this pump. I'm going to buy one of the 2" Duromax Pumps for my own personal use.
