Q: Can the discharge pressure be adjusted to 50 psi?

A: The pump does not have any pressure regulating features. The only way to regulate the pressure is by placing a pressure regulator at the input if the incoming pressure is higher then say 30 PSI or at the output if you need to have a pressure lower then 65 PSI.
This pumps wins our top spot because it is a dual action pump. One application is the water supply pressure booster pump. This increases and maintains municipal home water pressure. The Booster Pump will give constant pressure delivering between 60 to 65PSI of pressure, and will increase the city water pressure by what pressure is presently in the system.
For example: if the city water pressure is 20 psi plus the 60 to 65PSI that the pump will deliver, the pump will give a total more or less between 80 to 85PSI. If the incoming pressure is higher than between 20 to 25 psi, a 1” pressure regulator is required at the pump intake to assure that the discharge pressure will not be too high to damage the piping system of the house. That’s the maximum pressure that the pump body can withstand. There is no pressure adjustment on this system.
The second application is a tankless shallow well jet pump with electronic control that prevents pump from running dry. The maximum pressure that the pump will deliver pumping from a well is between 60 to 65PSI.
The main feature of the electronic system is to regulate and control the delivery of water and to maintain a constant pressure without the inconvenience of fluctuating pressure, especially useful when taking a shower, along with other applications. Everyone wants constant pressure. No pressure switch or tank is needed.

I bought this pump and installed it last summer in a shallow well application.. I have an old farm house that has a well pit on top of the groung under a cement housing. I was always having trouble with water pressure, rusting pressure tank etc. Now, I have no pressure tank, just this pump. It is amazing. Has never failed. Always delivers water at a constant pressure with more pressure than I had before. Its quiet and it doesnt rust. This amazing pump is by far one of the best, if not the Best, Buy I have made in years. For an extra 15 bucks, I have a five year warranty. How can you go wrong? I strongly reccommend this pump.

Bur-Cam Pump Review
Needing an on-demand pump to replace the unreliable Chinese pump, which replaced the unreliable Finish pump I searched the internet for an American made product with no success. I found Taiwanese pumps and even an Australian pump but none made the good ol' USA. Then I came across Bur-Cam pumps sold by Direct Water Pumps. Canada is the closest I could get. A bit more than the Chinese but less cost than the others.
So I gave it a try. It has been less than a week since I installed it which was a snap and so far so good. It does not pump as hard as the Chinese pump but then again, it is working. The rated pump pressure is only against a closed system. When a faucet is open it is about 20 pounds less than rated.
Also, the little black foot under the motor was shattered on delivery. It is only plastic. Should have been cast metal. I have not received the replacement from the manufacturer yet. I was very pleased with the directions with a variety of applications. The real test will be to see how well it is doing in a year. I was a little surprised to see how close in size shape a design it is to the Chinese pump. Did Bur-Cam copy them or vise versa?

Great pump for irrigating lawn and garden from a shallow well
I bought this Bur-Cam pump with pressure switch because I have a well and wanted to water my lawn and garden with "free" water. I ran the wire and the pipe and hooked up the pump and it pumps like a charm. When the pressure builds up, the pump stops. Open the valve, the pressure falls, and the pump starts. Just what I needed.
