Its Ok Nothing To Write Home About
During the first initial use of this pump it would only just come one and hum not doing anything, However I found out that it wont pump unless there is at least a 1/4" inch amount of water or close to it. The pump then will start and it does move water fairly easily and strong flow is provided.

During heavy rains I have water that comes in under my garage doors and floods the garage floor, I used this pump to get the water out fairly quickly and down to bare minimum there I then use... more

Based on your description of your application, here's a suggestion that might help. You may want to consider installing a french drain system in front of your garage door. A french drain is basically a long grate that allows water to enter, that usually empties into a ditch or basin. This should prevent most of the water entering your garage during heavy rains.

There's plenty of information that can be found about these systems with a quick Google search.
