Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
How long will it run on a tank of gas?
Brent
from Alabama
November 08, 2016
Answer
That's a hard question to answer Brent and there really isn't a way to gauge it. Run times are based on how easy or how hard the engine is running. If you're pumping a short distance with minimal head lift, you may see about 2 to 3 hours of run time, but if you're pumping very long distances and requiring a lot of lift, that may dwindle to 60 - 90 minutes of run time. You might equate it to how you drive your car? If you accelerate fast and brake the same and often, your gas mileage suffers. It's the same with any gas powered piece of equipment. The harder you work it, the less run time you will realize.

I'm looking for a water pump to use to pump muck from my pond. I bought a 6.5hp 3inch semi trash pump that isn't getting the job done.
Sounds like I need to use a full trash pump. I like the Honda WT30X pump but was wondering if a diaphram pump will be a better option.

Answer
If you're dealing with a lot of muck and sludge, you would be much better off with a DIAPHRAGM PUMP.

I have a pond that gets algae and pond weed in it. I'm looking for a pump that will handle the stringy plant material. Don't necessarily need a big gpm of water capacity. What pump do you recommend?

Answer
Any of our trash pumps should do the job for you, however it is strongly recommended that you open and clean the pump out and then flush it out with fresh water.
