Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
Does this pump require a bypass line when the discharge is shut off, but the pump is still running? I am looking for a pump to hook up to a supply tank and a discharge line with a fire hose. I will use this when I burn pastures, etc.

Answer
Assuming that you are pulling your supply water from a holding tank, yes you would definitely need to run a bypass line with a check valve built in so that your pump is still circulating water when you close off the nozzle to your discharge hose. This is needed for any gas powered pump that we offer.
