Q: Hi, I have this about 1/3 full on my back porch, with gas (and gas additive) leftover from Hurricane Sandy last October. Now that the weather is heating up, does this pose any risk of fire/explosion? (I have a shed, but it probably gets hotter in there than it does on the porch.) Thanks.
by Marie from New Jersey on May 16, 2013

A: Leaving an exposed fuel container outdoors in heat and sun can be an extreme fire hazard. This would include any location that can reach high temperatures.

Please consult with a local fire inspector for the proper storage of combustible fuels.

Q: Can the tank be stored or transported lying down in a flat position?
by Bruce Backer from California on April 14, 2012

A: Bruce - yes, the instructions on this model actually call out that the Flo-N-Go fuel tank should be tied down and transported in a horizontal position.
by Jim, Product Expert
Q: How long will gas last?
by Anonymous on August 28, 2011

A: Gasoline should be rotated every six months or so.

You can extend the shelf life if you add fuel stabilizer.

A 10-ounce bottle will keep 25 gallons of gasoline fresh for a whole year.

If you double the dosage, it can stay fresh for up to two years.

Pump Action Works Only To Prime For Gravity Feed
I purchased a Flow-n-Go specifically because I saw the video that is linked on the Power Equipment Direct web site showing the canister on the ground with fuel being pumped into a motorcycle tank. Checked with the manufacturer directly and was told that it works only as a siphon.

Spoke with Katie at Power Equipment and was told that there is a disclaimer on their web site to cover the video. I asked her to inform management to amend the video link. Very unhappy with the representation on... more

Christopher,
I am sorry you were disappointed in the performance of your Flow-n-Go. The video was made by the folks at Duramax, but they are no longer using it on their website, so I've pulled it from ours.

Based on your comments and the current manufacturer's web page I also went through and refreshed the Features for this unit, clarifying the siphon action that makes the pump work.

We appreciate your business, and thank you for your input!

"Power Equipment Direct did a very efficient job of handling my total order. They just need to change the Flow-n-Go video to prevent further misrepresentation of the product."

Christopher,
The video was produced by the manufacturer, but it's no longer on their website- so we've removed it from ours.

Disappointed
Capacity of this tank is great. The issue is the hose quality and pump. Hose feels almost like plastic and leaks over time. Pump handle is plastic and doesn't pump more than several ounces at a time. Check other reviews....not worth the money.
Cons: Low Quality, Durability

Hand Pump Leaked After A Few Uses
Noticed fuel leaking out handle after second use. Leaking became so bad that I disassembled the hand pump (warranty had long since expired). The rubber pump diaphram had torn.

Removed the hand pump and now I have to lift the tank up higher than whatever I fill. Wish I had bought three 5 gal cans for a third the price.

Also, temperature changes cause the tank to bloat or collapse so need to open vent periodically to prevent deformation.

Flo N Go Gas Can
I bought this for my husband who is always working out in the yard with machines requiring gas. He was excited when he opened it on Christmas morning just to become disappointed later that afternoon. He likes the can but hates having to keep squeezing the handle to keep the gas flowing. It is horrible on the wrist.

The only time it flows freely is when it is sitting up higher than the machine that is being filled. It is not worth the money I spent on it. Way over priced. I did not send... more

Latonya,
For safety reasons, the handle needs to be held down to keep the gas flowing.

Probably The Worst Purchase In My Life
Purchased this to use with my my boat so I wouldn't have to pay the high fuel prices at the marina. Looks great, but terrible product. wheels locked up first, ok I dragged it. Then the hose became brittle and cracked, replaced it with real gasoline hose. doesn't empty all the way. Pump handle doesn't really pump much more than a tablespoon at a time. oh and then the valves broke and gasoline poured all over my dock and boat. All this in less than 2 years. Pitched the piece of junk. Sorry I... more

The Quality...
...of this unit for what it sells for is at opposite ends. I bought this unit, and quite frankly I'm very disappointed. The theory and designed are brilliant. However, its totally plastic, which is understandable, and the hose is of very poor quality. It crimps at every bind. The nozzle does not perform very well at all. It is very hard to get the fuel from the red holding tank.

Like I said, the idea is great. If they are to continue to sell this item for this price, they need to step... more

Duramax Gas Caddy
I bought one of these gas caddies to fuel lawn equipment and transport fuel. After owning for less than a year the wheels would not turn when full of fuel. The combo gas pump nozzle started leaking when pumping and would even leak when using as gravity fueling. I emailed the company with no response at all. If anyone is cosidering buying one of these save your money and buy one that has metal construction and a company that will stand behind their product.

Flon N' Go Duramax Gas Container
I bought the kit a couple of weeks back. The cover is of high quality, the heavy duty extension cord with four 120v receptacles is of high qualify and I highly recommend. The gas supplement is what it is supposed to be... gas supplement.

Now lets speak to the biggest part of this kit. The actual container itself. The idea and design on this unit is great. However, the hose provided, and the nozzle are of very sub-par quality. The hose crimps very easily, restricting fuel flow to the... more

Worth The Money
I just purchased two of these portable tanks to have enough gas on stock for a 2 - 3 day blackout. (I have a 15 kW Generac portable generator.)

Assembly, filling and transport of the tanks is easy.

I didn't manage to fill 14 gallons in it - it was a little bit less than that.
The hand pump works fine and pumps more gas per movement than I thought. Anyway it takes some time to fill a motorcycle or generator tank.

Be careful when emptying the hose. There will be quite a bit of gas... more
