Better Than Advertised
I purchased my Subaru pump primarily to water my 2 acre garden from a creek.

It definitely had the best warranty and I figured that IF it did even most of what they advertisement said it would do, I'd be satisfied.

It's an unbelievable little pump! I purchased 25' of 1.5" suction line and started out with one 100' X 34" garden hose on the head. I am now running 150' of 34" HD garden hose with a splitter and added two additional 50' soaker hoses or two sprinkler heads.

Creek Water
My pump arrived yesterday and after reading all the instructions it was time to give it a try. I could not believe what this pump will do!!! It started on the third pull from the box and picked the water up immediately. I have a twelve foot hard plastic hose going to the branch and 125' garden hose going up a slight incline to the garden with a splitter on the end of the hose with two gilmore sprinkler heads running on it. Th engine needs less than half throttle to run the two heads with not... more

The Little Pump That Could
I bought this pump to attempt to pump water from a near by creek up the bank and on to my garden which is about 2 acres. The height of creek bank varies along the edge of the garden from 10 to almost 20 feet from garden level. This little pump handles it with no problem. Not only that but I have 300' of commercial grade garden hose on it with a splitter running two separate 50 foot extensions with sprinkler heads on them. It never fails to deliver the water. Amazingly, I have had to dig out... more
Pros: Quiet, Exceeded Expectations, Reliable

Great Pump
I use this to water my garden. When filling my water barrels, I drop the suction hose in about a foot of water and turn up the throttle once its primed, in a matter of minutes I have 3 55 gal barrels full. It does an amazing job pulling water up a steep bank. At idle i can use the pump to run my drip irrigation and with a splitter i can run a sprinkler or soaker hose as well. Great little pump, wish I had purchased sooner!

Very Nice Pump
Very nice pump. I bought it to replace an old Homelite 2 stroke that lasted well past my expectations. The throttleability is excellent and this pump appears to outperform (pressure and flow) the electric jet pump for my house. This pump appears to be well designed and manufactured and I expect it to last a long time.

I have used this pump a few times so far and have changed the break-in oil. The oil capacity is quite small and it is probably a good idea to change it frequently, it is... more

You Have To Love This Pump
I know it says for water, but I use it to pump mineral oil out of transformers for the power company (I do environmental work for them). It will pump down a padmount TX in about 5 minutes tops (about 40-50 gallons). I've been using the same pump for about 6-7 years, at least once a week with no problem. Lightweight so there's no problem getting it to a back yard of a residence or any other obstructions. Just got another one on mothballs "just in case". Odds are as not I'll never... more

Second One I Have Purchesed
The handle is a weak spot on this pump. It cracked at the mount in less than a week. This same thing happend on another one that I bought a few years ago. The stand bent on that one as well.
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: Durability, Expensive

Mark,
Thanks for letting us know about the issues you have with the pump. We've been selling these for quite a while and we've never had any issues regarding the handle or frame. This pump is covered by a 2-Year manufacture's warranty. I would suggest contacting Subaru directly @ (800) 277-6246 regarding a warranty repair. If we could be of any assistance in the future or working with Subaru to get this issue resolved, please let us know.

Excellent Value
Purchased in 2011, and waited to review until I had ran it for a while. I can pump 900 gallons per fueling and as you can see it uses very little gas and is very easy to store and maintain. I use the pump as a transfer pump from my rain capture tanks to my larger storage tanks and than as a direct irrigation pump. It has always performed with just basic oil changes. The only weak area is the handle, metal fatigue, but that is a very easy fix. I have recommend the product to friends but it... more

Very Pleased!
I am using the PKV101 to bring water up hill from the lake to the deck of my camp where we fill a 55 gallon plastic drum to have water for washing dishes etc.

The pump runs great and is lifting and delivering water from a static level that I questioned it would be able to.

I am very pleased!!

Making The Pump More Useful
The little Pump works great! It is a bit noisy. Too noisy for a back pack. I would bet the 3/4" hose and fittings limit it's productivity a bit. A big spray head on a 1'' wand would be good. Skimmer wants to float up out of the water, it needs more weight to keep from pulling air. Best possible accessory would be a big wheel golf cart with a stand for the pump and brackets to roll up the hose.

Sweet Little Pump
I purchased this pump to fill a 3000 gal. storage tank from a seasonal creek in the front of my woodsy home.

We use dit to set up a solar drip system for our vegetable garden, as we are on a well that at the end of the summer does not produce as much water.

This sweet 'lil pump started on the third pull and filled the tank in a bit over 4 hours. The only problem is it runs out of gas too often, but that's not really a problem.

I would recommend this pump to anyone . Oh, its pretty... more
